Meet with God in prayer as you ask for God’s blessing of love, healing, and peace. Find a quiet spot and listen as we guide you through a blessing prayer.
Begin by settling into a comfortable position in your chair in a quiet spot. Relax and let the tension out of your neck and shoulders. Take 5 long, slow breaths in and out. Pay attention to your breathing, and let yourself simply “be.”
Pray for yourself. Focus on the light and warmth of God’s love as it surrounds you. Rest in that light and warmth.
PRAY: May I experience God’s love.
May I experience God’s healing.
May I experience God’s peace.
(Pause for 5 deep breaths.)
Pray for a good friend. Bring them to mind as vividly as you are able. In this image, hold them in your heart and extend love and grace to them. Now imagine them in God’s loving embrace. Allow them to rest there for a moment.
Pray: May they experience God’s love.
May they experience God’s healing.
May they experience God’s peace.
(Pause for 5 deep breaths.)
Pray for someone you don’t get along with or dislike. Imagine them in God’s loving hands, and try to hold them gently in your heart. Release to God any anger or tension that may arise in you. Let these feelings go by setting this person free in God’s care.
Pray: May they experience God’s love.
May they experience God’s healing.
May they experience God’s peace.
(Pause for 5 deep breaths.)
Pray God’s blessing on all creatures everywhere. All that is, all that has ever been made, all that is and was and is to come: it is all held by God, sustained by God’s love, and blessed by God’s Spirit. Remember that the whole world rests in God.
Pray: May all beings everywhere experience God’s love.
May all beings everywhere experience God’s rest.
May all beings everywhere experience God’s peace.
(Pause for 10-15 deep breaths.)
